Tokushima Prefecture

I traveled to Tokushima Prefecture to see the famous Naruto Whirlpools and the Otsuka Museum of Art.

The Onaruto Bridge features a pedestrian walkway called “Uzu no Michi” (Whirlpool Walk), where visitors can enjoy spectacular views of the powerful whirlpools directly beneath the bridge.

Sightseeing boats that take visitors close to the whirlpools are often fully booked on days with spring tides, so it is highly recommended to make a reservation well in advance.

Nearby is the Otsuka Museum of Art, which displays ceramic reproductions of masterpieces from around the world. Using a special technique, famous paintings have been faithfully recreated on large ceramic panels. The museum’s collection is so extensive that it is difficult to see everything in just one day.
