Why I Started This Blog

I am currently practicing as a physician and involved in patient care every day.

In the medical field, I often care for elderly patients and have many opportunities to be present during the final stages of a person’s life. Through these experiences, one truth has become increasingly clear to me:

Human death is something that can never truly be predicted.

Because of this, I have come to deeply appreciate the importance of Advance Care Planning (ACP)—the process of thinking about how you wish to live and what kind of medical treatment and care you would want, while you are still healthy, and discussing these wishes with your family and loved ones.

In addition, it is not only important to communicate your preferences regarding medical treatment and care through a Living Will, but also to share your thoughts about inheritance, personal values, and major life decisions with your family in advance.

“Facing death.”

At first glance, this may sound like a somewhat gloomy topic associated with end-of-life planning.

However, I believe it is actually a very positive and meaningful process—one that helps us think more deeply about how we want to live.

Of course, maintaining good health and living a long life are important goals.

At the same time, I believe it is equally important to reflect on how to live in a way that leaves no regrets, no matter when the end may come.

It was with this belief that I started this blog.

Through this blog, I hope to explore the idea of living well together with my readers, focusing on three main pillars:

Living Well Through Thoughtful Choices and Preparation

  • Living Wills and Advance Directives
  • Advance Care Planning (ACP)
  • End-of-Life Planning and Inheritance Preparation
