Introduction: Losing Weight
The Purpose of This Program
The goal of this program is not simply to achieve a slim body shape.
Instead, the aim is healthy weight management focused on improving and preventing health problems associated with excess weight.
In general, for people with obesity, losing approximately 5–10% of their current body weight may help improve health indicators such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels.
For this reason, the goal of this program is not to reach an “ideal weight.”
Even a small amount of weight loss is meaningful, and
“not gaining more weight than you currently have”
is also considered an important achievement.
Rather than pushing yourself too hard, let’s aim for methods that are comfortable, sustainable, and easy to continue over the long term.
Weight Loss Using a Graph-Based Weight Diary
In this program, we will introduce a weight-loss method called the “Graph-Based Weight Diary,” originally developed mainly by Oita University, over the course of five sessions.
By recording changes in your weight and reflecting on your daily lifestyle habits, you can work toward healthy weight management without unnecessary strain.
Now, let’s take a look at how to use the Graph-Based Weight Diary for weight management.
