Kumamoto and Miyazaki Prefectures

As part of my SFC mileage run, I flew from Haneda to Kumamoto.
Rather than simply flying there and back, I decided to rent a car and visit Takachiho Gorge and Mount Aso.
It had rained the previous day, so the water in Takachiho Gorge was muddy and brown. Nevertheless, I was still able to enjoy its beautiful scenery.
Reservations for the rental boats at Takachiho Gorge open two weeks before the intended visit date, but the available slots seem to fill up very quickly. Unfortunately, I was unable to secure a reservation this time.
However, some time slots may still be available. If you have some flexibility in your schedule, you may have a chance of getting a reservation by choosing a different time rather than sticking to your preferred slot.
Mount Aso, on the other hand, offered a truly impressive landscape that perfectly captures what an active volcano looks like.
